biological aging
In a recent study, researchers from Northwestern University investigated whether residing close to green environments, such as parks and densely vegetated areas, could influence how our bodies age and promote healthy ageing in general.
Biological ageing was found to be slowed down by areas with more greenery, according a Northwestern Medicine study. On average, people who lived closer to more greenery were 2.5 years younger biologically than those who did not
But not everyone benefited equally from green spaces, as researchers discovered differences in socioeconomic position, racial makeup, and gender.
"We typically focus on things like eating well, exercising, and getting enough sleep when we think about staying healthy as we get older. the study's first author and a postdoctoral researcher.
